      ListMessenger Support Forum Updated   08/08/2017

We just wanted to mention that we have just upgraded our support forum software to the latest and greatest version of Invision Community. This will translate to a significantly better experience for users and hopefully a huge reduction in the amount of forum spam that pops up. Forum spam is poison to a support forum such as this because it robs support administrators of time which would have other wise went to providing important responses.

Issue On Upgrade

Just upgraded from 2.2.0 to 2.2.1 and get this error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STATIC, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /homepages/11/d318276867/htdocs/website/listmessenger/includes/classes/adodb/adodb.inc.php on line 435

now, knowing the square root of nothing about web stuff, I tried moving the old adob.inc.php file from the old version to the new and got this;

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '=', expecting ')' in /homepages/11/d318276867/htdocs/website/listmessenger/includes/functions.inc.php on line 1126

Your expertise in helping an imbecile such as I is gratefully received....

Just checked after reference to Google.... seems like it is 4.4.9.

I think that means that LM 2.2.1 will not install.

Re the emails not sending, it was absolutely fine last time I used the program a few months ago and now it just wont send. From the 'message centre' I am entering an email in 'send to subscriber' so I can test the email before going out to the list. When I then click on 'send message' the box highlights around the edges but doe not seem to react.

I then set up a small test group so I could try a controlled Group send. Again, highlighted the Group and clicked 'Send Message' with the same (non) result.

Finally, when I added a new subscriber, I checked to send a confirmation email. an email arrived so that's ok.

Suggestions please?

OK, hearing nothing through the forum, I decided to re-install 2.2.0 - seems to go in ok, noted that there was a database already, I deleted setup files and looked at the message I wanted to send. I selected the test group clicked on send Message and it comes up with message 'Successfully cancelled'.

I tried with 'send to a subscriber', it will recognise the email address but will not send.

Any help gratefully received as I will be forced to change programs if i don't get this sorted in a day or two.

Thanks....

Hi sward,

My first suggestion will always be to run the latest version of ListMessenger, as bugs have been resolved. Perhaps ones that you're encountering.

If you're running PHP4 there isn't much that can be done. Minimum system requirements for ListMessenger are PHP5.1+.
