Below is an email from our ISP. They took our site offline for over 10 hours after I sent out an email shot in the dead of the night around 2am in the morning. Have done this loads of times, however now have over zealous system administrator that I can not get around. They have offered 3 suggestions as per below, which are not acceptable for logistic and cost restraint reasons (MY COMMENTS IN BOLD BELOW). Does anyone have an easy option that I can implement? I.e., is there a setting in LIstmanager to slow down email sends from the cue, slowly, i.e. one email per minute?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Mathew

Hi Mathew,
I've just suspended your website "xxxxx.co.nz" as your newsletter was filling up the mail queue on one of our servers in the shared hosting environment.
When I stopped it there were over 1100 mails in the queue and this was causing service degradation for our other customers.
It also seems there were many mails coming back to bounced_mail@xxxxx.co.nz because yahoo had temporary blocked us as a sender due to the volume of mail trying to flow through their servers.
Unfortunately our shared web hosting services are not designed for bulk emails of this nature, especially if they're going to be queued and sent as fast as our server can handle as this adversely impacts the service availability for other customers.
As always there are a few solutions which can satisfy both our requirements, you may also have a workable alternative to suggest:
1. You could set up a cloud server and use that for sending outbound newsletters (from any of your domains) and have it on standby when not in use (I ASKED THEM ABOUT UNSUBSCRIBES USING THIS SET-UP AND THEY DID NOT ANSWER ME)
2. You could migrate to a dedicated server so your outbound mail can't cause issues for other customers (WTF $$$$$$$$$$).
3. You could stagger the send outs so that they are sent in small groups, with enough time for each group to send as well as other mail from other users (AMBIGUOUS + WE HAVE ~8000 SUBSCRIBERS SO THIS WOULD BE TOO LONG A PROCESS TO OVERSEE).
Please note if you choose the third option but your newsletters continue to cause problems on the shared environment we may have to take further action to prevent it re-occurring.
Please let me know how you'd like to proceed and i'll re-enable the website for you.
Kind regards,
Dick Admin
